Massage and craniosacral therapy offer profound healing through gentle touch and focused techniques. While massage promotes relaxation and eases muscle tension, craniosacral therapy targets the central nervous system, aiming to restore balance and alleviate various physical and emotional ailments.

Massage

Swedish massage is a type of massage therapy that’s primarily focused on relaxation. With this technique, a massage therapist uses friction, gliding strokes and kneading to target muscles.

CranioSacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a type of bodywork that aims to release restrictions in the craniosacral system. This system includes the bones, connective tissues, and fluids around the brain and spine. Some research suggests that CST may improve the functioning of the central nervous system and other systems in the body, such as the digestive, musculoskeletal, respiratory, circulatory, and more. Additionally, CST may help with physical components related to conditions like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety. Read More.

FAQ

The Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massages you can get. It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping and rolling. Massage oil or lotion is used to protect the skin from friction.

A Swedish massage can be a slow, soothing massage with light pressure to a vigorous or a faster-moving treatment with firm pressure — depending on the therapist. Again, you can ask the to adjust the pressure — more or less.  With deep tissue, some therapists are very strong and use firm pressure throughout the massage. Others warm the tissue up and then apply pressure in a slow and focused way, coaxing the muscles to release.

SomatoEmotional Release is a therapeutic process that helps rid the mind and body of residual effects of past trauma associated with negative experiences.  Joint research efforts by Dr. John Upledger and biophysicist Dr. Zvi Karni led to the discovery that the body often retains (rather than dissipates) physical forces, and often the accompanying emotional energy, triggered by physiological, psychological, emotional or spiritual trauma.  As the body heals, it can isolate or wall off, this energy into what is called an “energy cyst”.  Although a body can initially adapt to the presence of this “energy cyst”, eventually the body weakens or tires of this accommodation and can develop symptoms of pain, dysfunction or emotional stress in response.

Most people report a soothing, relaxing and pain / symptom alleviating feeling during the session. People report various pleasant sensations throughout the body, warmth, tingling, muscle twitch, a letting go feeling, a muscle relaxation, pressure release, etc.

By normalizing the environment around the brain and spinal cord and enhancing the body’s ability to self-correct, CranioSacral Therapy is able to alleviate a wide variety of dysfunctions, from chronic pain and sports injuries to stroke and neurological impairment.

There are certain situations where application of CST would not be recommended. These include conditions where a variation and/or slight increase in intracranial pressure would cause instability. Acute aneurysm, cerebral hemorrhage or other preexisting severe bleeding disorders are examples of conditions that could be affected by small intracranial pressure changes.

The best word to describe liz is magical. Liz is inspirationally transformative. I have never been so close to my dreams as I am today because Liz believed in me before I was able to believe in myself.
