Making the leap to transition to my natural color was honestly something I wouldn’t have done if it wasn’t for covid closing everything down.
Being forced to close my business and not have anything to keep my mind engaged I naturally went a bit stir crazy. And in the winters in Winnipeg… things already get really slow.
I have a lovely friend who at the time was working in a salon and also started transitioning her hair to her natural color. She was really my inspiration to start the journey…. And stick to it even in the most awkward of times.
So I’m not going to sugar coat this for you. There are times that I looked in the mirror and didn’t see myself. I was very attached to my look, more then I even realized.
I thought hey since I’m going through this weird hair time why not play around with it for a bit? I had box braids for 6 months. Initially medium brown and then when my roots started coming in a nice white in switched it to a medium white/grey. They were great! I loved them and would do it again.
As covid progresses and the hair salons closed down, I had to remove the braids and decided to do a big chop to decrease the time it would take to match the colors. I immediately retreated it. My friend from the salon at that time told me about this wonderful product. Made specifically for transitioning hair colors. Highly recommend. I would have never cropped off my hair if I had this product.
